I’m Erin Horrocks-Pope, but just call me Rin. 

Born and raised in Toronto East, I'm a firm believer in the importance of community. With a current focus on all things neighbourhood news, I guess you could call me a local initiative reporter. I'm the founder of Beach Beat, a community blog and social media hub for the Toronto Beach(es) and the surrounding area where I spent the most formative years of my life.

As a journalist, I strive to use my platform to inspire and empower and highlight social change and development.

When I’m not working or writing, you’ll find me in nature or working one of my side hustles. Most recently I founded Rin Co. Handmade, selling custom embroidery apparel and portraits.

An alumna of George Brown and Durham Colleges, I'll be adding a diploma from Centennial College to my wall in 2022. I either love learning or have a fetish for collecting copious amounts of student debt.
